Omaha Vs Stud
$data=<<Two variations of no limit and pot limit are available with both Omaha poker and stud and this limit the betting sizes. In Omaha poker, the player has to make hands with two cards from his cards and three cards from community board. This community board is not present in stud game. All the players in Omaha know all the five cards in the community board and hence, can arrive at nut lows during final betting round. This is not possible in stud and hence, is no meaning for nuts in the case of stud.
In Omaha, all the players will have four hole cards in their cards when the dealer starts the round. Whereas in stud, the dealer starts the game with one card face up and one card face down. The chances of high hands increase when the player has a pair in his hands when he plays Omaha. In the case of stud, no chances are revealed until the cards are dealt face up.
Betting is much easier as the player knows if he has high hands by looking at the cards in the community table. While in stud game, this is quite difficult. All winning chances lie in the hands of player in Omaha whereas in the case of stud, the winner has to rely on the cards that are dealt face up. The chances of different high hands is good in the case of Omaha because there are five community cards while there is no such chance with stud. This has made stud unpopular among the poker games but it is still played in many parts of the world.
Straights and flushes are possible in Omaha when the community cards have pairs or suits. While playing stud, you have to concentrate only on high cards and pairs. When you play stud, you have to fold when you don't have a pair in three cards. While in Omaha, you have chances of calling or raising when you play with unpaired cards. You need to have two good high cards for making high hands with the community cards when you play Omaha.
Aces are good cards when you play Omaha as they go with both high and low hands. Whereas when you play stud, you cannot rely much on the aces in the hole cards. There are a few excellent starting cards in Omaha game but in stud, only if you have a pair in three hands, you can be confident of winning the pot.
